Adjustment workshop
Adjustments to yoga poses come in a variety of forms including physical, verbal, and even energetic. The basic workshop and the observation workshop support good intelligent adjustments that address the individual as just that, an individual in the moment and what they need to be aware of or adjust in their practice.
Safe and intelligent adjustments should always begin with a good experience of actually doing the pose, followed by an understanding of what the intention or quality of the pose is where the student is in their journey of understanding and experiencing the pose, and finally what level of information they can absorb from whatever method of delivery of an adjustment you decide to give.FEES: 45 Euros before July 21st 60 Euros after.
OUTLINE OF ADJUSTMENT WORKSHOP
Why do we do an adjustment in the first place?
What makes a good adjustment?
Learn to see the adjustment first, where do they need length or space in their body or breath
Learn to use the variety of tools (body parts) that you have available
Use your own weight, good body mechanics to both feel and keep you safe
Through different exercises and practice
Play with the balance between the student working and you working
Knowing anatomy and function of joints helps us to understand more clearly what physical aspects of the persons body are allowing or restricting the ability to do a pose. Observation allows us to see more clearly the physical aspect of the pose and what needs to change. The adjustment then delivers the feedback of what is observed so that the student can further explore the pose and its physical, energetic, mental or psycho-spiritual aspects. Therefore adjustments are tailored to the individual in the moment.

Introduction to Ashtanga yoga Level I 25/05/2014
When breath and movement are in union, our practice becomes graceful and filled with ease. The count keeps ones practice focused on the breath and in the present moment. And it is only by striving to match the vinyasa that the deep, internal heat of tapas, and its corresponding purification, will come.
In this workshop participants will receive focused attention and hands-on adjustments giving them the foundation to build on ones yoga practice correctly and with strength and understanding.
No specific fitness level is required as the participant will be encouraged to work within their abilities. This is a great place to start if you have experience in a softer kind of yoga and we’ll work the techniques learned at a slower pace focusing on posture and breath.

Introduction to Ashtanga yoga Level II, Counted vinyasa
In Ashtanga we work at our personal edge every day. That work is to balance sincere effort with ease and surrender. The vinyasa frames our experience during practice, limiting our focus to the prescribed breath and movement. But we also need to apply non-attachment, vairagya, to the experiences that practice yields.
If you can understand this layer of the practice, a whole new level of discipline and focus can be accessed. A new appreciation for the method and its intricacies and what you’re doing relative to the practice will be understood.
In this workshops we’ll spend time learning how to count, and how we can use it in the practice to bring yet another level of focus and depth to what we’re doing. Experience in minimum 3 Ashtanga foundation classes is needed.
The intention is not that everyone leaves being able to count the whole of primary series. Instead we plant a seed of inquiry and just enough experience that one can go off and learn the count if they choose.
(Using the traditional Sanskrit vinyasa count)

Ashtanga Yoga primary series Level II Sunday 14/10/2012
This workshop focuses on the philosophy, language and practical knowledge of yoga. Asanas (or postures) will be covered in step by step detail so the student can understand where they should be and what they can work for in each asana and the full expression of one breath is linked to the full expression of a movement. The correct vinyasa takes some time to grasp, and is only mastered through regular practice. A led class can correct any errors that may have crept into a students practice. Combination of inner strength and soft submission create a dynamic feeling of peace and experiential awareness within in the student. Highly recommended for those practicing Primary Series or the ones who have followed level I workshop. With each successive practice, a student begins to develop mastery over the breath and the asanas (postures) in the sequence.
